First prototype arrived a few days ago to test the hardware, I finally found an affordable tr-606 for testing, but the software is still far from finished. currently mostly working on the new modules and had a lot of problems with the frontpanel man…
I'm eagerly awaiting the frontpanels.
I had some quality issues with the last company.
found a new one where the panels look absolutely gorgeous, but so far I only received the samples, then they had trouble with the printing machine. yada yada ya…
there is a new setting on the mixer page for each voice where you can select the midi note and channel. This also allows to play a single voice like a synth on different channels or to trigger all voices on the same channel.
the design files for the acryl case are in the wiki. So you could get them made from a service like ponokop or formulor. We just sold way too little to justify keeping them in stock.
The metal case comes with lightpipes, so normally the LEDs should…
there was a flyer in the kit with the URL to the build guide, quickstart manual and firmware image:
the latest firmware can also be found here in the foru…
try removing R28 (3k3)
bottom PCB in the top left corner next to the AVR.
I'll update the build manual soon.
Seems I planned to use 12V for the gate out voltage source but connected 5V. The voltage divider is dimensioned for 12.
could you post a high res photo of the boards?
sure you put the 10 ohm resistors in the right place? any higher value and the LEDs won't light up.
so a single green led is lit but nothing else? Is this the button LED or the gate out LED?
do the …
with nothing connected the penrose should stay at the low C (uppermost button)
it seems it has a voltage offset on the input that falls between 2 notes.
looking at the schematic: www.sonic-potions.com/public/PenroseQuantizerSchematic.pdf
normally the midi input of the soundcard should be isolated by an opto isolator. so in theory there should be no way for GND loops. do you have a midi thru box or another midi thru device to test this? If it does not happen with other MIDI devices I…
rocket seems a bit boring to me. A shruthi is great for bass and leads (monophonic) and beats the rocket in every aspect. And it's easy to build.
xoxbox vs RE - I have both. Xox is way cheaper, and I'd say gets to the original sound about 80-90%. R…
yeah, murphys law strikes again #-o
I thought it would be impossible, since we test each boards audio IO, SD card and general functionality before shipping them out. And even have the boxes with programmed and unprogrammed boards in different shelv…
currently I'm waiting for the samples for the knobs and button caps
Software wise the sysex im/export and some tweaks for the additional midi/dinsync IOs is still missing.
So My uneducated guess would be 2 months.
full diy kit.
the slide is added to the CV + a gate is output on slide notes on the slide out.
CV slide can be deactivated to use the slide out as extra trigger track or for external slide modules with variable slide time for example
The frequency range is selectable by a jumper.
You either get suuuper slow cycle times down to 10 minutes, but no real usable audio range, or not so slow cycle times but noise up to audio range. No v/oct tracking. The module is not usable as a class…
